Stories by Jane St. Clair appear in literary magazines like BrainChild, Thema, Clockwatch Review, Rosebud, J Journal, descant, Red Rock Review, Clare, Thematic, 34th Parallel, Quality Women’s Fiction, and others. She placed or won several national writing contests, some of which had over 5000 entries, including contests from Writers’ Network, Scriptalapooza, and others. The Time We Lost Gigi, a creative non-fiction piece about dogs, took first place in the international True Life Short Story Contest.

Jane’s Tata and the Queen of Romaniaappears in Times of Grace, Times of Sorrow, a collection of stories and essays about the American heartland published by the University of Nebraska. Jane’s The One Who Was Lost appears in a collection called Mourning Sickness published in spring 2008 by Omni Press, an anthology to help women who have lost babies to miscarriage. Soccer Moms appeared in an anthology of the best sports fiction of 2012 from Main Street Rag Publishing Company as well as in The Red Rock Review. A story by Jane St. Clair called “Scruples” appears in Firewalkers: Madness, Beauty and Mystery, an anthology benefiting mentally ill people.”When You’re Flying High, Better Don’t Look Down” appears in a 2014 anthology Modern Shorts from Fiction Attic Press.

One for My Baby also placed in the Midnight Madness and was later published in Thematic Magazine.
